FRIENDS OF THE EARTH

On 13 November 2002, the oil-tanker “Prestige” sank in front of the Galician coast. The most beautiful Spanish beaches were covered by a black, toxic and sticky substance, which was very difficult to eliminate. Therefore the non-governmental organisation ‘Amigos de la Tierra’ (Friends of the Earth) developed an on-line marketing piece for the Internet to make the public opinion aware of this unsolved problem, even though the media do not pay as much attention now. The pop-up was a big black stain that you can “clean up”, using the mouse with patience, so that you can discover the message that lies underneath: “Cleaning it all up is going to take a lot of work”.
